My first autumn in the East Coast inspired this abstract pastel painting. I had just moved from California to upstate New York, and the fall colors were magical.  I collected a whole bag full of amazing, colorful fallen leaves to bring home to paint. When I opened the bag a few days later, only brown, crumbled bits of dead leaves remained.  Not to be dissuaded, I let the memory of the gorgeous colors and shapes influence my creation of a flowing organic abstraction.
